NOMATIC 40L Travel Bag

I picked this one because a 40L bag that converts between duffel and backpack is the setup I look for when one bag has to do everything on a trip. The dedicated laptop pocket, water bottle pocket, and shoe and laundry organization are the details that matter to me, since they keep a packed bag from turning into a mess. Before you buy, check that the carry-on dimensions work for your airline and that the 40L size matches how much you actually pack.
